Vice President, Lay Leadership Development, JFNA

Shayna Kreisler is the Vice President of Lay Leadership Development for the Jewish Federations of North America. Shayna is responsible for designing and implementing the strategy, framework, and experiences that enable the development of a strong and representative lay leadership pipeline for the Federation movement and the wider Jewish community. In her previous role with JFNA, as the Senior Director for National Young Leadership Cabinet, she designed the curriculum and the experiences that have led to increased membership and a larger footprint across the Federation movement. Previously, as the Associate Executive Director for Programs at the 14th Street Y in the east village of New York City, Shayna was responsible for developing innovative approaches to create community. In her role, she was the architect behind the Y's growth and success from 2011-2017. She cultivated strategies and relationships, supported experiences that sustained and strengthened the cultural fabric of the community. Shayna has also worked for BBYO, where she built community across the globe through civic engagement and teen leadership, taught art in NYC schools, and has worked in design for top studios in Philadelphia and New York. Shayna earned her MBA from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, a master’s in arts education from The Steinhardt School at NYU, and a bachelor's in Fine Art from the Maryland Institute, College of Art. Shayna lives in Brooklyn with her husband, Alex, their daughter Anna, and their pup, Ralph.
